What do I wear for my boudoir session?
Don’t know what to wear? Choosing an outfit for your boudoir shoot doesn’t have to be a challenge. With the right mindset and resources, you can let go of your shopping anxiety and walk away with pieces that you feel confident and sexy in for your big day.
So what’s the game plan?
First, it’s key that you’re shopping for the right size. Every woman’s body is unique, and after getting fitted and measured a lot of women learn that they’ve been wearing ill-fitting bras their entire lives! Consultations at Victoria Secret are an old classic, but they’re now offered both in-person and online. Soma is another good choice if you’re a 36DD or more. Now, shopping is the fun part! The most important thing to keep in mind, is that you’re shopping for you. Your photos will look their best if you feel confident in what you’re wearing, and this means staying true to yourself when you’re making your selections. One of the amazing perks about working with Candace Gurley Photography is our incredible Client Wardrobe. We’ve specially curated our closet for boudoir, and we’ll be with you every step of the way to make you sure you look and feel amazing!
Our Client Wardrobe (which is included in your Boudoir Session Experience) contains sizes S-4X, averaging a total of about 200 total pieces at the studio. We have a variety of styles available like bodysuits, 2 piece sets, robes, and bustiers. If you're not sure what some of those things are (I get it, before I was a boudoir photographer I had NO IDEA what a bustier was), Google it! There are so many different styles and cuts of lingerie available out there and we try to showcase items to fit and flatter all body types and accent different styles and personalities. Also in the Client Wardrobe there are a variety of body chains!
We keep our Client Wardrobe clean and sanitary by requiring all of our clients to use a protective liner with all of our items, in addition to laundering or dry cleaning each item between every single use.
Not sure about using the Client Wardrobe? That's OK! Some clients decide to shop around for lingerie to bring with them on the day of their shoot. Totally fine! If you do purchase or bring your own, we suggest nothing with print or pattern. When it comes to color, simple is best - it is also much more elegant and classy which is something you will appreciate in your photos!
